RANGER PROFILE: Kevin van der Linde
Hi, my name is Kevin van der Linde and I am a Field Guide stationed at Selati Camp, Sabi Sabi. It has been a lifelong dream of mine to fulfil my enthusiasm and passion for nature and become a Field Guide. Before my dreams were made a reality, I was residing in Pretoria, where I studied photography, another keen interest of mine, but the city wasn’t for me. I love meeting new people and seeing the smiles on their faces when they arrive at our camp.
The fact that I get to take them out for either their first, or 50th safari is the most rewarding feeling. My passion and knowledge of photography has helped me capture special moments that occur in nature that are not often repeated (or by the book), as every day we set out on safari there is a new experience in store for us. Along with that, I also enjoy helping guests capture the moment for themselves by sharing my skills with them; be it composition, angles, or even just a button that they are stuck with. I hope you will enjoy this journey of life in the Sabi Sabi bushveld with me, and appreciate the story that nature tells us every day…
