Early risers can head out at first light to catch predators on the move. Night owls can sleep in and take a leisurely breakfast on the deck, watching elephants and buffalo gather at the waterhole. If someone needs a rest day, you can stay close to the Villa without disrupting anyone else’s plans. Your guide gets to know your family, understanding which member is fascinated by which animals, who wants to practice their photography, or who’s eager to learn more about the tracks they see on the road.

Lessons That Last

The EleFun Centre is where future conservationists are created. Our passionate team takes children on guided walks through the Bush Lodge grounds, opening their eyes to the smaller wonders of the bush. They listen for alarm calls, learn to identify clues left by animals and understand how everything from the tiniest dung beetle to the largest elephant plays a vital role. 

Children between the ages of 4 and 12 make crafts such as plaster casts of animal spoor, learn how to navigate using the sun and stars, and discover why protecting wild places matters for their future. It’s education that feels like play, and the enthusiasm is contagious. Many parents find themselves joining in, just as captivated as their children by what they’re learning. 

Growing Together

In the bush, there is time for both lessons and bonding. Children learn patience waiting for a leopard to emerge from the shadows. The entire family sits quietly while wildlife cross the road ahead. Children develop respect for nature and gain confidence from conquering their fears, whether that’s the dark of the African night or getting close to animals they’ve only seen on screens.
