start of a new chapter
on Apr 15, 2015For the last 2 and a bit years I have had the immense privilege of working with my tracker Zeblon. I have been given the opportunity to move more into the lodge environment at Little Bush Camp and will be leaving my right hand man behind at Selati Camp. With mixed emotions our time working together has come to a close and we are left looking back over our time spent together.

From Zeb’s first time holding a scorpion after 30 minutes of convincing him it won’t hurt him, to my first time seeing a pangolin, the memories are endless.

Always eager to track animals Zeb and I have walked 100’s of kilometres in the bush, finding some elusive animals for our guests. The trust in our friendship has no bounds, it is always reassuring knowing that your tracker has your back when in a dangerous situation and will never leave your side. Zeb has been patient with me over the years and educated me all about his culture and traditions, as a teacher he has been great even taking the time to teach me a lot of the local language.

The highlight for both of us though has definitely meeting all our guests from all over the world and sharing with them the beauty and nature of Sabi Sabi! There is just something about seeing someone’s face light up after and incredible sighting or explaining how amazing nature truly is, whether it be a plant, an insect or even one of the members of the Big 5.

Our friendship is even extends much further than the work place and Zeb has even visited my home in Cape Town and was at my wedding a while back . A very big thank you to all the guests we have had the pleasure of guiding over the last couple of years and we hope the time spent together has left you all with lasting memories!
