Nature Always Leads
on Jun 26, 2025Design That Deepens Our Story
As the seasons shift and the bush responds, so too do our spaces. Change here is never hurried, it unfolds thoughtfully and in step with the rhythm of nature.

This winter, we are delighted to share a series of refinements to Little Bush Camp and Bush Lodge. These transformations honour the original essence of these spaces while introducing a new depth. For those who return to Sabi Sabi time and again, you will find familiar stories retold with fresh nuance. And for those discovering it for the first time, spaces that don’t distract from the soul of the wild

An Old Story, Told Anew

There’s always been something secretive about Little Bush Camp. It remains one of our most private hideaways, with only six suites and space for twelve guests. The recent reimagining of the main lodge area enhances that feeling of seclusion.

A sculptural fireplace in aged copper now catches the eye, its warm patina casting a glow that deepens as dusk falls. A new stone-and-timber serving table offers utility and artistry, anchoring the room. Around it, the lodge unfolds in layered textures – embroidered linens, botanical prints, rust-hued armchairs and woven details.

The Bush Speaks In The Details

Guest suites at Little Bush Camp now offer a more tactile, calming experience - bathrooms are brighter, bigger, with generous stone vanities, oversized mirrors and bespoke wall lighting. A cluster of basket-woven pendant lights adds soft light while natural materials introduce texture and soul.

In the bedrooms, a timber-slat headboard, detailed with hand-stitched leather, is mirrored in the cabinetry of a custom-designed drinks armoire. There is personality in the curated artworks, patterned cushions and layered rugs underfoot. Even the desk nook, reconfigured for comfort, is now a place to write, sketch or simply sit in quiet observation.

A New View At Bush Lodge
At Bush Lodge, long celebrated for its wide open spaces and front-row views of the bush, a different experience awaits. The Loon’s Lounge, our newly refurbished viewing deck, allows our guests to immerse themselves into the luxury of an 'armchair safari’.

Thoughtfully restored as a tribute to the Loon family’s enduring connection to Sabi Sabi, the deck extends toward the waterhole, drawing the bushveld nearer. From the comfort of generously cushioned sofas, guests can watch as giraffes glide past, elephants gather, and antelopes pause in the dappled shade. With a coffee at sunrise or a sundowner in hand, you might even witness lions crossing.

A Return To The Senses
These changes, subtle yet intentional, reflect our belief that luxury lies in the smallest of moments. In spaces that feel considered, in details that don’t shout. At Sabi Sabi, we continue to shape places that serve the story of this landscape. We look forward to welcoming you, or welcoming you back, into this season of quiet transformation.

Yesterday, today and tomorrow….a legacy of wilderness, wonder and heartfelt hospitality.
