Monochrome Monday #25
on Jun 08, 2015“I think that emotional content is an image’s most important element, regardless of the photographic technique. Much of the work I see these days lacks the emotional impact to draw a reaction from viewers, or remain in their hearts.” - Anne Geddes
Welcome to a special edition of Monochrome Monday where the main focus of every image is on the youngsters of Sabi Sabi. To me no image holds more of an emotional element than an image of a cub, calf, pup, foal or any other young animal.
An elephant calf and its mom enjoy a session of mud bathing in a big wallow.
Nottins’ cub lays low in the grass while Nottins moves off to hunt.
A monochrome conversion of this cheetah cub shows the contrasting colours between the cub’s mantle and the lower half of the body.
Four impala lambs pay close attention to the vehicle as guests fire their shutters.
Viewers are usually drawn to the eyes of the subject first when looking at a photograph, especially when the subject’s eyes are as big as this Southern Pride cubs.
A zebra foal displays its beautiful striped patterns, one which is unique to itself, just like a human’s fingerprints.
Tortilis ascends a tree while a hyena lurks below.
A buffalo calf allows guests to examine its beautiful set of teeth.
Two Styx Pride cubs play fight, which serves good for one day when they are older.
An elephant calf moves into a small opening, dwarfed by the tall grasses around it.
