A Week in the Bush Vol. 125

on Oct 20, 2016

This past week has come and gone at a rate of knots, and with that, we witnessed some pretty spectacular sightings from not only the Big 5, but some of the smaller animals and birdlife which we get to see on a daily basis here at Sabi Sabi.

The cats have definitely stolen the show this week with amazing sightings of both leopard and lion!

The Tatowa female leopard was seen earlier in the week, in close proximity to Maxabeni and a kill site of his.

Maxabeni couldn’t believe his luck when he went for a drink at a waterhole, only to find a dead buffalo a short distance away!

We had an incredible sighting of the Kashane male and a large warthog boar! The warthog was extremely relaxed around the leopard and fortunately for the warthog, Kashane had eaten a big meal so wasn’t showing any interest in him! At the end of the week, he was seen eating a porcupine after a risky, yet successful hunt.

Our guests watched in awe as a male cheetah posed beautifully on a Marula tree before descending in search of a meal.

The Southern Pride and Charleston males continue to provide for themselves and their rapidly growing cubs! They have been seen on numerous buffalo kills which, as always, allows for some spectacular photo opportunities.

Terry and his guests were treated to a fairly rare sighting of a Large-spotted Genet who was very relaxed with their presence.

General game has been in abundance this week as well as some fantastic bird sightings.

With the week drawing to a close, we are delighted to report that we have had some rainfall and hope to soon see more greenery around!

We end this week with a bit of cuteness...
