Monochrome Monday #78

on Jun 20, 2016

Art is nothing more than creating an emotion in your own form. - Shannon L. Alder

Nothing much in this life evokes more of an emotional response than that of seeing young offspring, regardless of species. We have experienced so much joy as a result of spending endless hours with the Southern Pride’s newest editions, that I thought I would dedicate this week’s edition of wildlife in monochrome to these incredibly cute felines. The future of the Southern Pride is looking bright with these two new cubs and I expect that there will be more cubs born in the coming weeks as I have noticed a couple of females, including Floppy Ear, frequently leaving the company of the rest of the pride and seemingly in search of denning areas. I just pray that they continue to den with us as they have done with this current litter. The other great news is that there is one male and one female in this litter, which means that the pride will at least gain one permanent new member, while the young male will be eventually exorcised from the group in a few years’ time. With this in mind, we still have some time to go before we get all excited about this as anything can happen over the next few months, but the Charleston males have been doing a fantastic job of controlling the area and defending it from outsiders, which would be the only real threats of the cubs’ survival. I hope you all enjoy this week’s selection of images...
