Monochrome Monday #56
on Jan 18, 2016We do not remember days, we remember moments. - Cesare Pavese
There is no way better to remember moments and events than by flipping through photographs, or nowadays previewing photos on a laptop. Using a camera to capture moments that will be lost in time is priceless and that is what I love about photography.
A big yawn... from a big male leopard... The Mandleve male.
A quick grooming session between the Charleston brothers before they start moving through the night.
It’s always rewarding seeing a rhino, but once you start spending time with these prehistoric beasts, you can’t help but think how much longer they have out in the plains of Africa.
Focused and poised! A wild dog from the Toulon Pack makes its way towards an unsuspecting herd of impala.
I think this giraffe knew when he should stand still and pose.
One of my favourite birds. The Martial Eagle. Even though this one has not reached the stage with adult plumage, it still looks quite menacing.
One of the last photographs I took of one of the Sand River males. He was seen wondering around alone for weeks and eventually disappeared.
I tried something very different while processing this image in Lightroom. It works for me! Does it for you?
It’s always quite special to get two endangered animals in one photo. Here a male cheetah growls at some approaching White rhinos. Eventually he gave up and walked away.
Warthog Wallow striking a pose on a slight crest, allowing me to get a low angle.
