Monochrome Monday #50
on Nov 30, 2015If you want to be a better photographer, stand in front of more interesting stuff. - Jim Richardson
Wildlife will always be interesting enough for you to be able to create better photographs if you are patient enough. They will reward you with that split second opportunity or two to get the perfect shot if you willing to spend time with your subject. This is definitely something that I encourage my guests to do when they out on safari and want to go home with better photographs. I hope you enjoy this week’s edition of Monochrome Monday.
Perfect light! Perfect subject!
The Circle of Life!
Elephant textures. This particular male, recognised by the distinct hole in his ear, is probably one of the most relaxed male elephants that roam the property.
A common subject. An uncommon technique. A slow shutter and zooming out whilst the shutter is open creates this effect.
The “cleaner” at work.
A White-backed Vulture sun-bathing
I treasure every shot I get of these skittish animals. This one posed for just enough time for me to get the shot.
Wild Dog pups always provide entertainment, and photographic opportunities.
A male giraffe and his companion, the Red-billed Oxpecker, keeping a watchful eye on his horn.
A panning shot of a Blue Wildebeest. They are probably the best subjects to practice the technique of panning on.
