Monochrome Monday #89

on Sep 05, 2016

Photographers are artists, they capture and bring emotion in the motions of life. - Unarine Ramaru

Creating images that another person connects with is not an easy task. Often the subject matter can help greatly in stirring up these emotions, but ultimately it’s how you finish off the image that will create the most impact. I’ve always loved monochrome photography for the very reason that it creates more depth and evokes more emotion than a distracting colour image. It’s just the way we’re wired I suppose, or maybe it’s just me. When colour is absent, it gives the viewer a chance to scan over the image in more detail and really think about what the photographer has tried to bring across in their work, or just to hover over it for a second longer to allow their own conclusions to rise to the surface. Either way I believe that monochrome photography creates more impact in general, especially in portraiture and wildlife. With this in mind, I hope you all enjoy this week’s selection of wildlife in monochrome.
