Pic of the Week #87
on Jul 20, 2018Kudu at Sunset
Some, when going on safari, are very much “Big 5” driven, however this reserve and the guiding team is definitely not at all about that, we offer a holistic experience and include so much more that we can see out there. In this image I have captured a beautiful Kudu cow that was gracefully browsing with the warm winters sun setting in the background. Such a beautiful scene just has to be represented as one of many opportunities one will get when going on safari at Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve.

Editing used on this image
When photographing into a sunset or direct sunlight at a lower angle, I lowered my ISO to utilise that beautiful light to give my image that natural temperature. I also increased the clarity and added some shadows and blacks to bring out the subject, especially the light that caught the back of the mane on the neck.
