A Week in the Bush Vol. 205
on May 02, 2018From the big, to the small, to the pretty and not pretty... one thing for sure is that we have had another incredible week on safari here at Sabi Sabi. Enjoy the past week’s highlights...
What started out as a drive out to go on a guided Bush Walk, Keegan heard what sounded like 2 leopards mating, and the walk was postponed as he used the vehicle to find the source of the commotion. What he found was truly special, seeing two leopards mating, but nobody could have predicted what would happen next... Read all about this incredible sighting in Terry’s latest blog, “Never say never.”
We have enjoyed sightings of the Little Bush female and her young cub over the past week. Here the experienced huntress shares a meal with her offspring before making her way down a Marula tree and moving only a short distance as her cub watched from the safety of the tree.
After getting off the vehicle at the sign of some fresh leopard tracks, the young Ntsumi female leopard made her appearance just 30 meters down the road. We followed her as she stalked a variety of potential prey, taking some time to relax on a fallen over tree.
The two Birmingham male lions were found moving through the reserve with massive bellies towards the end of the week. A wonderful sighting of two massive lions.
Late one evening with a sighting of a Serval Cat that was seen out on the prowl for a meal or two along our Private Airstrip in the Southern part of our reserve.
We have been inundated with amazing sightings of all species of animals and birds out on safari this week which again reminds us that it’s not only about the Big 5 when you visit Sabi Sabi.
We end the week’s highlights with a sighting of two wild dogs who were tracked and found after they had killed a bushbuck.
Until next time...
