Monochrome Monday #91

A good photograph is one that communicates a fact, touches the heart and leaves the viewer a changed person for having seen it. It is, in a word, effective. - Irving Penn

My personal journey with photography has been a life-changing one, so much so that I can’t believe that I didn’t pick up a camera sooner. When I started, as with most people, it was just the odd snapshot here and there. There wasn’t much thought going into it at all. In fact, I used to shoot videos of myself exploring the bush more than anything else and it wasn’t until I began working as a professional Guide that I started to get a bit more serious about photography. Now I find it difficult to switch off from this passion and wherever I go I’m thinking about the “scene” and how I would portray it using my tools. It has become second nature...and for this very reason I have seen my photography improve over the years. This week I have chosen some images that I think tie in with the theme of the opening quote and my only hope is that you enjoy them.
