upgrade for bush lodge
The final phase of Sabi Sabi’s total rebuilding of the 25-suite Bush Lodge is complete with the redecorating of the main lodge and expansion of the outdoor viewing areas. The result is a lodge that is at once the height of five star luxury and a warm, friendly and relaxed meeting place in the bush.
Bush Lodge’s guest lounge and bar areas have been decorated in a warm, contemporary style based on the premise that Bush Lodge was the home of a mid 1900’s big game hunter and explorer, who travelled extensively through Africa always returning to his special place in the Sabi Sand, where he felt most at home. After each trip he would display mementoes and artifacts he had collected on his travels.
Bush Lodge’s outdoor areas now have two huge wooden viewing decks overlooking a water hole where animals come to drink. The decks feature enormous sofas and armchairs where guests can put their feet up and enjoy the unspoilt bush in total luxury. A new pool has been added to the existing pool next to the decks, extending the outdoor relaxing area.
Bush Lodge’s reception and welcome areas have also had a facelift, with an extended indigenous garden and lawn sweeping from the entrance to the reception and the reception area itself receiving a new, more informal welcome area designed to complement the lodge’s relaxed and warm atmosphere.
Interior designer, Trish Marshall, has mixed eclectic styles and eras to create the perfect bush retreat -Bush Lodge’s renowned atmosphere of warmth and vibrancy has been enhanced by the additional design elements and guests’ initial reaction has been very positive.
