Neil grew up in the Greater Kruger National Park area and from a very young age showed an interest in nature. He turned this interest into a career, completing a Game Ranging and Lodge Management diploma at Damelin College.
While at Damelin he also qualified as a Field Guide Association of Southern Africa (FGASA) level 1 guide and directly after completing this diploma went on to obtain a certificate in tracking. In between his studies Neil had a part-time job, freelancing as a guide in the Kruger National Park. Shortly after finishing his tracking course he accepted his first full-time game ranger position at a lodge bordering the Kruger Park.
Two years later Neil decided he wanted to learn about a different type of safari experience, and joined a lodge that offered elephant-back safaris.
In 2010 Neil became part of the Sabi Sabi family. He enjoys bird watching, is fascinated by honey badgers and loves sharing magical leopard encounters with his guests.
