sabi sabi ranger gallery: darred joubert
Darred grew up in the Greater Kruger National Park area. He has had an interesting and varied education into wildlife. From a very young age Darred has had a keen interest in snakes. It takes a special type of person to stay calm and collected when handling snakes, and he has this remarkable ability.
With his permit in hand, Darred has, when necessary, captured and released many snakes back into the wild.
Straight out of school he enrolled with UNISA - the University of South Africa, completing a four year diploma in Nature Conservation. He then furthered his studies and qualified as a Field Guide Association of Southern Africa's (FGASA) level 1 field guide.
He enrolled in the EOS Canon road show photographic course and while on course was invited to join a team of cinematographers to assist with shooting a wildlife documentary in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.
Once that was completed, Darred wasted no time in joining the Sabi Sabi team as a ranger and absolutely lives for his daily bush adventures and photographic opportunities.
