sabi sabi ranger gallery: brett heasman
Brett is a multi-tasker. In 2007, while working as a game ranger at a game ranch close to Johannesburg, he obtained a Game Ranger and Lodge Management diploma with Damelin College and shortly thereafter qualified as a Field Guides Association of Southern Africa (FGASA) level 1. He then added to his game ranging qualifications by doing the Eco Training Level 1 and 2 courses.
His dedication was rewarded by being voted game ranger of the month during this practical training. Brett tested the management waters when he took a position as game ranger / assistant lodge manager with a lodge in the Mabalingwe Nature Reserve.
He enjoyed the management experience but being adventurous by nature with interests in fishing, sports, wildlife and photography, he could not resist a game ranging opportunity that opened at Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve. During his time at Sabi Sabi he has completed his FGASA level 2 and back up trails guide qualifications, reconfirming that this is his passion in life.
Brett has learned that you never know what wild adventures await you while out on a safari. He is a very committed individual who describes himself as a teacher. He deeply enjoys sharing his bushveld experiences with his guests, bringing them closer to nature through touch, smell, sound and taste - leaving them with a greater understanding of South African wildlife.
