Ben is originally from England and first came to South Africa at the age of twenty seven. He has taken an interesting route to get to Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve. He obtained his degree in Psychology and then joined a tiger research team in Rajastan - India.
He worked at a five star hotel spa resort as well as at a travel agency - all of the above before stepping onto South African soil for the first time. In 2007 Ben came to South Africa to do a guiding course with Bush Wise Field Guides, after which he joined a lodge in the Sabi Sands as a game ranger.
His interest in diversity and the variety of habitats in Africa, led him from lodges in the Greater Kruger area, to lodges on the east coast of South Africa, to KwaZulu Natal, and then out of South Africa to work as an assistant lodge manager in Tanzania.
In 2010 he returned to South Africa and the offer of a game ranging job at Sabi Sabi Private. Ben is a qualified Field Guide Association of Southern Africa (FGASA) level 3 guide, with a love of spiders, astronomy, birds and photography.
