Welcome to the first edition of “Monochrome Monday”. This may or may not be a new concept to some, but in the weeks that follow, myself and fellow Ranger, Mike Palmer will be taking you on a journey through the monochromatic world as we shoot it. I hope you all enjoy.

Monochrome Monday 1

One of the Sand River males was seen lying in the cool shade of an Acacia tree, desperate to escape the relentless heat of the African morning sun.

Nottins makes sure Eric, my tracker, doesn’t make any unexpected moves as she steps out of the shadows and into full view.

A herd of impala move away from the vehicle as one bold newcomer watches on in interest at the funny green animal passing by.

A female cheetah looks out for potential prey by taking to a fallen Knobthorn Acacia tree, which had been pushed over by a herd of elephants the night before.

A female cheetah got extremely lucky as a playful herd of impala ran in her direction. The impala were defenseless to her attack once they finally realized their mistake.

Two Styx Pride brothers seek comfort in each other as they move into foreign territory for the second week in a row.
