cycle highlights july-august 2013

on Oct 08, 2013

Every now and again a cycle goes by so fast you almost feel hard done by when leaving the property. This was one of those cycles, an absolute blur of big cats, an untimely rain, big grey Big-5ers and everything in between. I looked back on the cycle and my photo library and sometimes had to really think about some of the sightings and the sequence of events. After sifting through one or two photos here are the highlights from my cycle.

An exciting few days with the beautiful Skukuza males coming through Sabi Sabi; got some serious business done and then moved on. I wouldn’t mind seeing these nomads again in the near future.

Just a little fun with the stars, the African night sky is something special.

Highlights 7

One of my most memorable lion sightings, they are all special but this one will definitely stick with me as vivid as the day itself.

In my opinion, one of the better looking male lions around, Solo. I do think he has some commitment issues though.

Great to have the Southern Pride cubs around, these little lions put a massive smile on my face when I saw them for the first time and managed to get this shot. Playing on the banks of the Sabie River with not a care in the world as the rest of the pride rests and keeps one eye open.
