African Anticipations

on Oct 14, 2016

There are countless things that make Mother Nature so special and alluring. I find myself twitching with excitement as change is coming. A shift that brings about new life and revival of all living things. The life-giving, replenishing water that is rain.

We cannot wait to watch the spectacle as the African bush transforms after a harsh and hostile winter. There is plenty of dust to settle. Bones to be cleared. Bare ground to return to lush, green carpets of grass. Flowers are eagerly waiting to bloom and show off their attractive colours to lure in a vast medley of insects. Birds will return from their epic journeys from around the globe to sing songs and dress in their finest feathers to form monogamous pairs. Male frog calls will fill the evenings as they hope to charm females into mating. Almost overnight, the ancient reptiles such as tortoises and lizards return from their hibernation and fish miraculously appear in our waterholes. Trees become densely covered in exquisite canopies which will soon bear fruit for countless creatures such as birds, antelope, jackals, civets, bats, monkeys and of course, the African elephant to enjoy!

Everything is inseparably linked and works together in a miraculous marvel worth experiencing!

Only the fittest of animals have survived the prolonged drought and they will soon be rewarded with an oasis - a perfect sanctuary.

So we all eagerly wait in anticipation and keep an eye on the horizon as it is now the calm before one epic storm. A storm which will bring all of this to arise.
